Temporal Distortion

I hate time. It’s been 9 months since I’ve posted here. That’s a shame really, but then, not much has happened. Not on any kind of macro scale, anyway.

Part of the reason is that I’m lazy about most things, and that includes this blog. Sure I have a half-dozen drafts saved, but I don’t remember where I was going with most of them. So they continue to sit in the drafts box, unloved, unfinished.

I haven’t been anywhere exciting, made any lifestyle changes or anything wacky like that. Nothing to report here but that I’m still alive and confused as ever.

They followed the tail of the whale to the squid, I followed the squid to a whale of a tale

Wow, I was researching Squid today on wikipedia, and through a wacky chain of linkage, found this. For those of you too lazy to click it, the link is to a hilarious parody of the original Dark Dungeon Tract, using goth subculture instead.

For those not in the know, the Tracts are religious zealot propaganda published by Jack Chick, a semi-famous Fundamentalist Protestant wingnut and “accomplished” conspiracy theorist. This deluded individual’s website is the stuff of nightmares, such that upon initially viewing it, you might think it was a joke, like the Landover Baptist Church website.

Also found a C’thulhu-based one and a smashing parody of the infamous “This Was Your Life” Tract. There are tons more where that came from, here and here (at the bottom of the page).

And, somewhat more political (which seems to amount to the same thing in moder-day amerika), whitehouse.org is good for many a laugh as well….

One moment of relative silence

When I woke up this morning, the world had a distinctive sombre cast to it. Now, at least, I know why, via Luke. Maybe saying that sounds a bit ‘flaky’ or something, but that doesn’t make the feeling less true. There isn’t even anything else to say about it, really…
