The last few weeks have been hell; living, stinking hell. It all started when I came home one lovely September Thursday evening to find out that my dog had been killed by an 18 wheeler, then on the Monday the shit hits the fan at work.
It was actually more like someone was using a food processor to grind a big pile of shit and I was the one in the little bowl under the blades. Yesterday burnt me out so completely that I called in sick this morning. Today, while playing on my computer here at home (what else am I going to do), I stumbled across an ad for a job opening I had been waiting for. Meghan sent me a posting for a technician job at a local computer chain.
So this afternoon, I applied for it. I know the owner/operator fairly well as I've been buying stuff there for quite a while. He interviewed me on the spot and I am to start on a trial basis tomorrow evening.
I guess I write my letter of resignation this evening...

Hopefully though the new job won't burn you out. Where is it? (Or is that secret?)
Posted by: Luke at October 8, 2003 04:42 PMYeah, that bit totally blows. Thanks for your sympathy.
Don't think the new job will be a big burnout issue. It's a total no-brainer for me; fixing/upgrading/building PCs is not that complicated. The shop there has all kinds of diagnostic equipment to help me out, and I've never had access to that before so hopefully it gets even easier. The place is Clockwork Computers. They're fairly (in)famous around here.
Posted by: Ron at October 9, 2003 11:21 AMOh yeah, almost forgot - they're paying me 33% more too, and for less work I might add...
