Presently in my house in Korat, Thailand. Easy days.
Spend my time getting english lessons ready and buying things like pillows and hangers! Traveling is adventerous no?

Anyways heres my pics from Lao… basically I drank Beer Lao everyday for a week and listened to “We built this city on Rock and Roll” and Genisis.
Creepy.

The ‘Arc du Triumph’, Lao version in the captial Vientiane. The french influence can be seen everywhere. They sell baguettes everywhere. Bread vendors. AND.. the coffie is real.
The picture is bit off, and isn’t a good view, but the can’t all be postcards folks :P
Arch du Lao

One of the many temples in Vientiane. There are more, I took some pics, but honestly I’m templed out.

And after a 14hr bus ride, I ended up here. Duh!!! It’s a bus station.
Lao bus station.

90% of Lao looks pretty much like this.. misty, cloudy mountains, rice, rice, rice, house, rice.
Laos fields

On the way to the ‘4000 islands’ in Lao we were told ‘you get out here, wait for new bus 5 min’ yeah.. where are we? Well let me see rice, rice, rice, road, rice, rice.. oh i’m in the middle of nowhere. YES! Atleast we can rock!

Eventually we just got ontop of the bus/truck (it was a bit of both) and rocked Lao with classic great hits like “Look at us were white” and “check out my greasy facial hair cause i havent showered in 2 days cause I live on a bus”.

See we are ontop of the thingy non believers!!

If we rock hard enough the rice will grow and feed the populus. ROCK GODS!

Our following. We found them swimming in the ditch… seriously. But you can call it ‘the river beside the road’ if you want. JOKING!!.. calmness. The kids here also swim in the rice fields and anyother small gathering of liquid. There is really no such thing as a lake around here. They are rare, and when you see one your more likely to think pond.

Look ,the cutest disease ever!!!

Mekong River. Huge , brown, has the only fresh water dolphins in the world, and there its likely that there are sunken boats under me from the Vietnam war.

But don’t get down.. cause we brought the rock with us! At this point the guitar has a name.. Blue Lighnting! It should have been obvious though.

I had no idea what that was until 2 days ago I walked by a coconut tree and saw one. I asked my Thai friend and she said it’s what the coconuts grow on. Thats a boring answer. I was thinking more along the lines of ‘Nature’s most powerful weapon against the pestulance and evil.
i have no idea

This is the local School. The kids here are playing a game that I saw everywhere. You put down some money and then pick your distance, and how ever can hit it with their sandle gets the money. They are deadly with a flip flop at 40 feet.

The mighty MeKong can only be entered via ninja flips while thinking of your happy place. So it was written , so let it be done. Down side .. strong current, Up side.. free trip to Vietnam!

Rice, Water, and port village. The man’s name is Yuan and he likes yo-yo’s. And if you believe that you be a mighty fool human! (What can I say it’s late at night here)

Last pictue.. the o so offical boarder of Lao into Cambodia.. little did I know that in about 5 minutes I would get to see smuggeling!! This man did not tell me. He is not a happy man. Infact he may be made of wax….

Thats the end of the hillarity for now.. It should be stated again though that Beer Lao is amaizing, and Lao girls are hot. These two things may be realated. How is that possible!?!?!

I’ll put up my cambodia pics soon.. everything from the boarder crossing to ancient wonder of the world and the inbetweens.

Oh.. and whats up with all the shooting in Toronto? .. I actually was safer in Cambodia, and its the most land mined country in the world.

Back in Thailand

Spent the last 2 weeks in Lao and Cambodia.. pics to come, but I’ve slacked off so much that i’ll do my posting backwards.

Here some pictures of my last 3 days back in Korat. I was helping my friend/housemate Nong Pen take care of her two niece’s from Ubon province.

Me , Nong Mai, Nong Mink. Nong Mink is the only 4 year old girl I’ve ever met who wants to get her ears peirced and leave home. When we asked her if she would miss her parents she said “I can talk to them on the phone.” ha.. shes ready for university already.

We went and watched a seal show. This was my best picture. Unfortunatly the camera focused on the railing instead of the seal. Whatever.
go seal!

Laos..

I really like Laos.

First, it’s even more laid back then Thailand which is incredible. But most importantly.. all the girls are hot. Either an asteroid landed here and contained a radioactive engergy that makes you breed only hottness… or the mix of Siam/Chinese does it. Either way.. I spend my days in the Capital Vientenne eating at french restaurants , drinking beer Lao, and smiling at girls. Its Awesome!! Also one dollar = 10′000 kip.. so i’m a millionaire!! Instead of sleeping on sheets i just dump all my money on my bed and roll around in it… glorious.

Tonight i’m off to Pakxe in the south of Lao… 14hr bus ride… should be an experience. The buses here make Thai buses look like flying chariots of gold. Then i’m off to Cambodia to blow up a cow with a bazzoka.. cause apparently you can do that there.

Its hot… i’m going swimming.

Rainy days..

Hey all…

I’m in Lao.. Vientienne to be exact. (If i spelt it right).

Not much is that new. Was teaching english camps all over the north and north east.. now I’m off for fun in Lao and Cambodia soon. I’ve been drinking beer Lao for a while now.. so my so sobriety is in question. In fact I would say the question is pointless at this point…

wish me luck :P
