So what is a sticky note?
A sticky note is one of those cute little pieces of paper with a
sticky
strip on the back that you write notes on.
A WinDesktop Note is similar to that in most respects. It is an
electronic sticky note that sits on your Windows desktop. After an easy
setup you can keep an eye on your notes with ManageNotes, adding,
removing, and editing your notes at will. ManageNotes also allows you
to
change all of the program's other major settings. EditNotes let's you
make new notes, and edit existing notes. TrayNotes is an animated icon
that lives in your system tray (beside the clock). TrayNotes let's you
quickly launch ManageNotes and EditNotes. It can also be used to run
ShowNotes, the invisible portion of the program that displays your
notes.
These core components ensure maximum simplicity, versatility,
and
efficiency, with regards to making, managing, and showing, your
notes.
WinDesktop Notes is currently in its third major release (Ver.
3.0.x),
and is relatively bug free, and ready for download. The current
features
include:
- A simple and intuitive interface that has
a 10 minute learning curve.
- Notes that can have any
font, text colour, or background colour you desire.
- Notes that can have
background images in a half a dozen of file formats, including
transparent GIFs, with several border styles.
- Notes that can have
"Play
Sound Button", load, and close, sounds. Try recording a message with
the Windows Sound Recorder to give your notes that personal touch.
- Notes use hotspots,
ensuring that the actual note is center of attention, without
compromising their functionality. If an option is available the button
will appear when you move the mouse over it.
- ManageNotes allows you
to
manage all of your notes, and all of the program's other settings.
- TrayNotes resides in you
system tray, and it's the quickest way to show your notes, to run
ManageNotes, or to make a new note.
- TrayNotes can also run
ShowNotes at boot time, at a fixed interval, or at specific times, and
has an alarm to let you know when it shows the notes.
- ShowNotes can show your
notes in different sizes, and allows you to show a specific note, all
of today's notes, or all notes. It even allows you to show your notes
conditioned upon them being enabled.
- The actual notes can be
displayed in up to three different ways, and support text copying, so
you can quickly copy a note to your favorite word processor.
- You can right click on
the
individual notes, the list of notes in ManageNotes, and on the note in
EditNotes, for a variety of options.
- Full 3.x.x compatibility
so you can download newer versions without discarding all of your
existing notes.
