Derek joins the club of people who have been F’d in the A by both Bell Canada and Rogers. On the same note, you can type in Google the phrase “Bell Mobility” plus the foul word of your choosing (I tried it with fuck, and sucks) and you’ll get my site as the first hit. Huzzah!

FYI, the entire new South Park episode is about the PSP. Oh, and feeding tubes.

Last Thursday I was complaining to Robin about several piles of vomit in the Eglinton West subway station that had been sawdusted over, yet still stank to high hell. Today is Monday and they’re still there. You know, for the record and everything.

I’m back. It was a good trip, and I’ve got a bunch of photos to post when I’m more lucid.

It was hell getting home though; after the airplane landed at Pearson I got treated to the good ol’ 20 minute bus-ride from the “in-field terminal” to the real terminal. Then, I got hassled by customs; I was bringing two cardboard boxes of Chie’s stuff, and they were insisting that I come up with a monetary estimate of their value. After settling at a value of $200, they let me through. I got outside of the airport, and the taxi was blocked in by about seven ambulances (including an ambulance-bus). No idea what was going on there…

It gets better though - on the way home, my taxi driver gets busted for speeding. When the cop asks for license and registration, we find out that the cab driver has no license on him. Fun stuff.

I had two things actually work for me last night - Skype finally “accepted” my credit card and I made a crystal clear phone call to my parents, plus I finally got X.Org supporting the native resolution of my laptop screen. Now if I can manage to use Skype to call Chie I’ll be potentially saving quite a bit of cash. I’ll try to write more later.

I whipped up a Delicious clone in Perl since I’m tired of the service always being down (plus I wanted private bookmarks). It’s available for download here. You can look at my bookmarks to see an example.

Jessica asked me to point out the Ontario Midwives Frequently Asked Questions.

Thom sent me a link to Boing Boing about how the recently uncovered security problem in non-IE browsers was fixed in the Firefox/Mozilla CVS trunk 12 hours after discovery.

That’s awesome, but I’m still sitting here with a non-patched version and the main Mozilla site still has 1.0 for download off the front page. And I’m waiting for the Debian team to fix it as well. Here’s hoping that distribution of the patch goes just as quickly.
