Today’s “what the fuck” comes from this Reuters article:
Republican Sen. Rick Santorum, a possible 2008 presidential contender who faces a tough re-election fight next year in Pennsylvania, said intelligent design, which is backed by many religious conservatives, lacked scientific credibility and should not be taught in science classes.

Definitely in the WTF category. Did you catch is interview on the Daily Show? This has to be some kind of vote-grab. He seems to be back-peddling a lot on some of his historical stances.
This is the first I’ve heard about his 2008 Presidential contention. That is going to be one interesting race, well.. it any of us are actually around to see it. ;)

Definitely sounds like a vote-grab to me.

To bad that he still promotes teaching the “holes” in evolution which is the only thing that intelligent design teaches. Definatly an attempt to seem like less of a right-wing nut.

Ryan: No shit.

Santorum goes left (*cought* spreadingsantorum *dot* com *cough*), Hilary goes right, and Americans are left with more of the same… Fun. (With an option for slightly less naked predatory aggression if the voters so choose.) Hmm… anybody up for building the great wall of Canada? :)

Okay what is the WTF addressing? That he’s shifted position in order to win the presedency? That people beleive in intellegent desiegn, or that intellegent desiegn lacks scientific credibility?
Cuz none of this is really late breaking news.
The only WTF I see is that Giulani was’nt mentioned as a posible contender in the primaries.

The WTF comes from the fact that Santorum, who’s pretty much history’s greatest monster, can so transparently switch gears without breaking a sweat the moment he believes that there’s a chance he can win the Presidency. Though I should be more used to this kind of thing.
Oh, and toss in the fact that I think he has a good chance of winning.

I’m sure Chie would post a ‘Luke is Dead’ message if he was just laying there stinking up the place :) [If for no other reason than to get help shoving him down the garbage shoot.]
