I had two things actually work for me last night - Skype finally “accepted” my credit card and I made a crystal clear phone call to my parents, plus I finally got X.Org supporting the native resolution of my laptop screen. Now if I can manage to use Skype to call Chie I’ll be potentially saving quite a bit of cash. I’ll try to write more later.

I managed to get one of the VBIOS patchers to work with the chipset in this laptop. So now I have the nice login manager and everything :-)
