Photos from last weekend.

So we got moved into the new place obviously, about a month ago in fact. I’ve been in Singapore and Chie’s been at her parents since the funeral, so neither of us have had much opportunity to actually live in the place until this week.

Unfortunately I’m going back to Singapore this Monday, so that’s only eight days that I get to spend here. So far it’s been cool though, and the new apartment is great. Much, much larger than the last place, clocking in at 47 square meters. A little bit cheaper too.

Anyways, we spent last Sunday just messing around in the area (Shinjuku), which is the same area that my first place in Japan was.

This street performer was totally awesome. His act was about 30 minutes long, and at the end he must have pulled in about five hundred dollars - easily.

Anyone wanna submit this one?

No idea what this car is - it looked like a Lamborghini, but I’m not enough of a car guy. Ron?

Its a Lamborghini, well.. Looks like a Lamborghini… It looks a little too small.. There are tonnes of kits to actually turn Pontiac Fieros into Lamborghini’s.. So who knows.. Mabey it’s a fake.. They look really wicked still, but ahem.. Don’t quite have the same kick..

Countache (Spelling) is the actual model type of Lamborghini. :D

Dang, you beat me to it… I would have said pretty much the same thing exactly. It does look a little small, but then, I don’t get to see many Lamborghinis up close for scale purposes, and Japanese people are small. :-)

There are a couple guys in the Soo that have added said kits to their near-gutless 86 Fieros and think that it makes them cool.

I love how in that even in the picture there are people checking out the car. That car likely draws looks like that everywhere it goes.

I also love the odd trend in Japan to add fancy wheels, body kits, and huge spoilers to tall econoboxes (see the Honda in the foreground). It makes just as little sense to me now as it did when I first played Gran Turismo, and even less sense after I read the Car and Driver Tokyo Auto Show exclusive about the things that they plan on doing in the future.

Hey, if you see one, can you snap some pictures of a JDM Subaru SVX for me?

Awesome pics, by the way… I always dig the random Japan pics. Enjoy your short stay.
