Goodnight.

So Manila is fine so far, the meeting went well and I’m getting ready to crash (we have to leave the hotel at 6AM to catch the flight). I haven’t taken any pictures yet.

I just wanted to say though, when I was on the plane coming here I caught the flick 50 First Dates. I had never really heard of it until I saw it then, and I gotta say: holy shit. This is probably one of the best movies I’ve seen, which boggles my mind. Usually Adam Sandler is partially funny, and his last attempt at a romantic comedy (Punch Drunk Love) didn’t do anything for me. But 50 First Dates was absolutely great. I was laughing my ass off for the first half and almost crying for the second half. That’s pretty rare for me since I basically have no emotions (Matt can testify to that).

Anyways, I watched it and I was “moved”, actually moved by it. So we get off the plane and I’m still in this mindset of thinking about this movie, when two of the guys I travelled with (who weren’t sitting me) start talking about watching the same movie and how it did the same stuff for them. So it’s not just me being nuts.

I agree very moving, I broke up with my boyfriend after seeing it. Maybe it was the movie or the fact that he ate all my popcorn. I wonder if he felt the same way?

I usually don’t like dumb comedies, but this one had a little more substance than most. Also, seal vomit is hilarious :)

Still, in terms of effect, I think Punch-Drunk was far more heartwarming and realistic. But hey, what do I know?

I agree with Robin, PDL was Adam Sandler’s best flick (unlikely casting that worked-out surprisingly well).

50 First Dates is pretty damn funny though.

I’ve not seen FFD but I might have a look after reading some of this feedback. I really did like PDL though. First time I’ve actually viewed Adam Sandler as anything other than a schmuck.

There ae worse things than having your boyfriend eat all of your popcorn. You could have reached into the popcorn bag, in the middle of the movie, and found that your boyfired had in fact ripped a hole thruogh the bottem, to make an entry way for his now salt and buttered penis.

Too make things worse, he could have leaned over and wispered (so that none of the other theatregoers could hear) in a thick cockney accent

“Some nut-butter me lady? You will have to pump the lever a few times, but it should be to your liking”

See? Things can always be worse than what they are. Thuogh your box of popcorn emptied early that night, your metaphorical glass was indeed half full.

    Goodlnight melady
