Dramatic title, eh? Anyways, last night Chie and I were finally getting the key to our new apartment (more on that later) and shot some photos of the Shinjuku area. These towers are basically between my office and apartment building, although surrounding our apartment there’s nothing over five stories tall.

We went and watched Kill Bill Vol. 2 tonight, and on the way home we saw a man with a little tiny dog, and a skateboard. The dog had its front paws on the board and was kicking with his back legs, and then jumped on and skidded behind the man. It was amazing. Again, I vow never to forget my camera.

Not “I don’t get it” as in I don’t understand, I just didn’t get the terabyte storage boost that people are talking about:
Maybe I’m not special enough. Anyways, GMail still rocks and the spam filter is absolutely superb. Since I posted my address in public I’ve received about 350 junk mail messages, and GMail has automatically turfed all of them except a dozen. And it seems to learn from the spam (although that’s just me guessing, I have nothing technical to back it up).

Went to Jakarta again today, and just got back (at like 11:00PM local time). It’s such a fucked-up place - it’s cool in like a life-threatening, terrifying sort of way.

Sentosa was damned nice. It’s an island with a bunch of beach resorts and hotels, and we all met at one of them and just hung out by the pool. Best of all the whole thing cost each person two dollars. Not too shabby. The place was pretty family-oriented (which surprised me) and there were signs everywhere instructing us not to feed the monkeys.

These pictures are on the street next to the office in Singapore.
Today I’m supposed to go out to Sentosa, which is some sort of beach on a smaller island. Bring on the sunburn.

When Chie and I were in Toronto we took quite a few pictures, so here’s some of them. I’d post pictures of Manila too, but didn’t take any due to the fact that I was weary of using my camera in public :-)

The trip to Manila went well. We had to leave for the airport to get back to Singapore at 5:30AM, so I’ve been totally exhausted today. I got back into the office around lunchtime and I’ve been dealing with the nightmare that is our ISP. Fun stuff, good times.

I’m going to Manila today for a meeting. My first thought was to be nervous, but then I realized that after seeing Jakarta nothing worries me. Hey Rob, want me to buy you a gun while I’m there? Kidding.
